We believe in growing extra

Our story

We are four people, one cat, 11 backyard birds, and hundreds of plants who live together on 1/6th acre in Coast Salish territory. Our adventures in micro-farming started with growing our own food, and expanded to include flowers, heritage ducks, and seeds for Fidalgo Seed Share.

The most important things we grow together are love and topsoil. If we sequester a bunch of carbon, it’s been a good year. All the rest is extra.

We’re inspired by Barbara Kingsolver’s Animal, Vegetable, Miracle and Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass. We’re mentored along the seedkeeping path by Rowen White, and by the plants themselves, who teach us to grow enough extra to share!

“For two seasons now we’ve been enjoying Frisbie Farm Farm’s quality and variety. The dahlias arrived carefully packaged and every tuber has sprouted. This is a lovely family farm to support and their care for the land shows!”
